What Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers does for you.
Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers is a non profit organization that provides a community for atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, and the non religious. All too often religious groups have not only special tax privileges, but deep pockets as well. Funded by generations of entrenched income, the appropriation of the income of their members, and long-time established reserves, this means groups like IAF can have a hard time speaking out. While IAF does not seek to mirror churches or religious organizations in its goals, IAF does have to contend with the same economic realities that we all face today. In order to foster the community that we value so much here in Iowa such as events like the annual Spring time picnic, hosting and sponsoring special guest speakers and events, awareness campaigns, and even annual scholarships for Iowa students, these all require the financial and social support of our members. A paid membership to Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers helps make these things a reality for Iowans and ensure that IAF can remain a place for the non religious to call home. A paid membership, only $25 a year, also grants access to the IAF library, the ability to vote and hold office in IAF, and ensures that IAF can continue to be a voice for the non religious in Iowa.
We encourage you to get involved! Attend weekly meetings, participate in charity drives and community events, and yes, become a paying member! Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers is growing, and we want you to help us grow together!
